Configuring Full Internet Access on Your BlackBerry

If you are having problems using SIPRelay Mobile but you are able to browse the Web, you need to configure your Access Point Name (APN) settings. The steps below show what is needed to configure your APN settings.


T-Mobile
Note: All images are taken from the BlackBerry 8700 series.

To configure your BlackBerry Wireless Handheld:

  1. Upgrade your BlackBerry Operating System (OS). You need the 4.1 version of the BlackBerry OS or later.
  2. Configure your TCP settings. Depending on the BlackBerry Wireless Handheld navigate to:
    • 7200 Series: Options > Advanced Options > TCP
    • 8700 Series: Settings > Options > Advanced Options > TCP
    • 8100 Series: Options > Advanced Options > TCP
    • 8300 Series: Settings > Options> Advanced Options > TCP
    • 8800 Series: Settings > Options > Advanced Options > TCP
      Note: The above settings are the default settings.
  3. Fill in the APN field with the provided APN information shown below:
    • APN: wap.voicestream.com
      Username: (blank)
      Password: (blank)
    • APN settings
    • Change APN to: proxy
    • Leave the Username and password alone
  4. Ignore the Gateway IP address, unless your BlackBerry Wireless Handheld specifically has a text box to enter the IP address in. “APN” means “Access Point Name”
  5. Save the information.
  6. Reboot your BlackBerry Wireless Handheld by removing and reinserting the battery.

Run your BlackBerry Internet Software. Once you have filled this information, your Internet applications should work on your BlackBerry.


AT&T

To configure your BlackBerry Wireless Handheld:
