The following are frequently asked questions (FAQs) and answers about SIPRelay.


Who can use SIPRelay?

SIPRelay is designed for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals who wish to communicate from anywhere in the US or its territories, at anytime with a mobile device and/or personal computer (PC).


How do I get a local 10-digit number to use with SIPRelay?

Deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals must be registered with and verified by mySorenson before they are able to place calls using SIPRelay other than to 911. Please visit www.mysorenson.com to create an account. After registering, you will receive an email with instructions to verify your account. Once your account is verified, you will receive a local 10-digit number and be able to place and receive SIPRelay calls.


How much does SIPRelay cost?

SIPRelay is a free service provided to the deaf and hard-of-hearing.


Can I complete 900 number pay-per-calls through SIPRelay?

No. SIPRelay does not accept 900-number calls.


Can I complete Spanish calls through SIPRelay?

Yes. SIPRelay can process Spanish-to-Spanish relay calls; simply say "Espanol" when you reach a Communications Assistant (CA) to be transferred to a Spanish-speaking CA or use SIPRelay Mobile and select Espanol in the options menu of the application.


Can I place an international call?

No. SIPRelay does not accept international calls.
